Two sixth graders interviewed the principal, Mrs. Corrado, to learn more about the construction of the new school building.
After interviewing the Principal, Mrs. Corrado, we learned more about the progress of the new school building. Mrs. Corrado stated they are on schedule for completion in the fall of 2026. The new building will have five floors and a bridge connecting the old and new buildings, which is expected to be completed in February. This bridge will be on floors 2 through 5. The windy weather caused a temporary pause in the construction due to safety hazards. There will be both elementary and middle school classes housed in the new building. Things are moving ahead now, and no additional delays are expected. The building’s exterior panels are arriving from Germany.
Outdoor Space
They will build a playground and a soccer field. There will also be a green roof, but it is only for environmental purposes. Instead, this green roof will help reduce noise pollution, reduce flooding, and cool the school.
Indoor rooms and classrooms
Elevators will be installed, but unfortunately, they are not available for student use. The only exception is if a student gets a serious injury, they will be able to use the elevators. There will be new rooms, including a larger technology room, a new and larger kitchen, and an art room. She even ordered the furniture for them. These new rooms will be great for the school since there will be many more teachers and students. It is very exciting to have a more spread-out school. The new building will also contain a room for the Parents association
While construction is still ongoing, we are happy to speak further with Mrs. Corrado about this exciting addition to our school and to provide our readers with an updated report next month.
