Introduction
In December, students shared their thoughts about the school lunch and what they would like to see changed. Students are now sharing their thoughts again. This review will contain ratings on specific school lunch options and students’ feedback on the dishes.
Today, we will share interviews with three students, including their feedback on the best or the most interesting dish at school.
Dish #1 School Pizza
Jason Chen, a seventh grader in class 706, decided that the school pizza was not as great as the other options: “School pizza is a nice dish, but sometimes it’s not very filling and leaves me hungry for the rest of the day. This school lunch dish is pretty good, but I would not choose this as my favorite lunch.” Overall, Jason would rate the school pizza 5/10.
Dish #2 Mozzarella Sticks
Nancy Hoang, a seventh grader in class 706, believes that the mozzarella sticks are “PEAK”. “I tend to eat my own lunch. However, whenever they serve those cheese sticks, I BEG my friends for one,” she said. “Although they refuse or give me half almost all the time, I cherish those mozzarella sticks to the deepest depths of my heart — or should I say stomach? Get it?!” This response left many reporters shocked and hungry at the same time. Overall, Nancy would rate this dish 10/10, as it is “superior to other lunch choices.” “The only reason why I didn’t go over the scale is because going over the scale is for bums,” she said, sarcastically.
Dish #3 Chicken Tenders
Local student Samira Yupsapova declared that the chicken tenders were the greatest lunch dish of all time. Samira loves the chicken tenders so much that she could marry them, she said. “Other school lunch options are good, but chicken tenders are obviously so much better.” Many students share the same love, pride and joy for chicken tenders, and agree that it’s one of the most popular dishes at PS IS 206. Overall, Samira would rate the school chicken tenders 10/10, leaving her very filled and looking forward to the next time it’s served.
Dish #4 The Chicken and the Bread
Jodia Ho, a seventh grader from class 706, responded that the chicken with bread was a decent school lunch option, sometimes leaving her filled. Most of the time it was pretty appealing. However, Jodia would not say that this is her favorite school lunch, sometimes leaving her hungry for the rest of the day. “ The chicken and the bread are a decent option for our food choices, but it is more of a snack than lunch, and sometimes it leaves me hungry during class.” Overall, Jodia would rate this school lunch dish 7/10 due to leaving her still hungry after eating and sometimes looking unappealing.
What Do You Think?
Overall, these were some of the most popular dishes at our school — even though not everyone likes them. What do you think about our school lunch? What would you like to see changed, and what is your favorite school lunch?
